Meet the Candidates: Laura Shivers, Crescent Valley Town Board

I would like to take this opportunity to share some insights about my background and my motivations for running for office. Having lived in various communities where personal connections often outweighed qualifications, I have come to appreciate Crescent Valley, Nevada, as a welcoming and inclusive environment. I believe it is essential for both new and long-term residents to engage with one another to cultivate a supportive community. My name is Laura Shivers, and as a retiree, I am committed to volunteering, particularly with Tressa's Closet and Pantry, Movie Night and helping out at Community Events. My goal is to ensure that everyone feels valued within our community. I bring approximately 20 years of experience as a Navy DOD Operations Clerk, along with educational qualifications in Hospitality and Accounting. Additionally, I serve as a member of the Crescent Valley Town Board. It would be a privilege to be elected for a second term. Thank you for your consideration.
