On Oct. 3, telecommunications Lena Engeseth and Trina Webster received their certificate for Basic Emergency Communications Skills from Great Basin College Criminal Justice program. They completed this course and received 15 college credits. Let us congratulate them on this major accomplishment.
Arrest for Battery with a Deadly Weapon and Burglary
On the morning of Oct. 3, Deputies were notified of a battery with a deadly weapon in Eureka, Nevada. Deputies met with the victim, and he stated he had been hit in the head multiple times with a baseball bat. The suspect had entered one residence and had attempted to force his way into another residence. The suspect was known and was identified by the victim. The victim had to be taken to the hospital for their injuries.
With assistance from Detectives from Nevada Division of Investigation and a NHP Trooper, ECSO Deputies found and arrested Jeffrey Groth. The Deputies and Detectives recovered evidence from the incident.
Jeffrey Groth was arrested for the following charges:
NRS 200.481 Battery with a Deadly Weapon with Substantial Bodily Harm
NRS 205.060 Burglary of a Residence
NRS 205.060 Attempted Burglary of a Residence
Bail was set by the Eureka Justice Court at $250,000.
