If you were to be interested and have the time, you could go onto the Eureka County website at Home | Eureka County or www.eurekacountynv.gov where you could work your way through and find that we have no less than 44 different boards that help to run the business of the county. To get to the list of boards you will go to the website, choose departments, then click on commissioners, then at the bottom of the commissioners page you will find a line that reads, Eureka County Boards and Members January 2025. There you will see all the boards that are filled by your friends and neighbors. Yes, some boards on the list may not have been updated since 2025, but at least you will see that we have a wonderful group of people within our county who, if not elected, have volunteered to see that things get done. For us all. Below is a snapshot of the first lists you will see. These boards are run by elected members. Reading on you will notice which board members are appointed or if the boards are filled by volunteers. The information on the pages will surprise and probably in some ways, amaze you. Especially when you realize how selfless the members of the boards have been and continue to be. Becoming a County Commissioner is so much more than the few hours you may see them in a commission meeting. Our commissioners are on a major number of these boards. They take the work each board does very seriously, by attending meetings and keeping up on the things on each agenda. Be sure, when you see a commissioner, or any other person on the various working boards, whether you talk to them, text or email them, take a minute and thank them for their service to YOUR community.
